JustInCaseNote is a continuity planning tool. You write notes and choose recipients — if you stop checking in, your notes are delivered to them.
Each note has its own silence window timer. Every time you check in, the timer resets. When the timer expires without a check-in, the escalation process begins.
Your note is released to its recipients. Before the deadline, you will receive daily and hourly reminders via email, push, and optionally SMS (paid plans) to give you every chance to check in.
Tap the "Check in now" button on the dashboard. This resets all active note timers at once.
You receive a daily email and optional push reminder at your chosen time. When any note has less than 12 hours remaining, hourly safety reminders are sent until you check in. Paid plans can also enable SMS hourly reminders for extra peace of mind.
Yes. Active notes can be edited, paused, or canceled at any time from the dashboard.

Advanced plan users can encrypt individual notes with a passphrase. When enabled, the note is encrypted on your device before reaching our servers. We never see your passphrase and cannot read encrypted content. Only someone who knows the passphrase can unlock the note.
No. When you encrypt a note, it is encrypted on your device before it reaches our servers. We never see the passphrase and cannot decrypt your content. Only someone who knows the passphrase can read the note.
If a passphrase is forgotten, the encrypted note cannot be recovered by anyone — including us. Make sure your intended recipients know the passphrase through a separate channel.

To cancel, go to your device’s subscription settings (Settings > Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play > Subscriptions on Android).
You can request account deletion from the app or by emailing us. All your data, including notes and personal information, will be permanently deleted. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it first through your device’s subscription settings.
